How to select a suitable submersible pump type for pipe head loss?

   Qatar drilling company limited, for example, quoted for Submersible Pump for using in water well depth around 150m and well diameter 8-1/2”. However, Qatar customer need flow rate about 75 – 80 m3/hr. Meanwhile, he would like to connect the pump out let with 2-7/8” or 3-1/2” tubing.

   Usually, the discharge diameter should be larger than the pump outlet. The pump outlet is 4", the pipe head loss is too much if Qatar customer use 2-7/8” or 3-1/2” tubing. The flow rate will be decrease. The problem now is they must connect to 2-7/8” or 3-1/2” tubing for the well site.

   In order to meet customer needs fully, we discuss again with our technical engineers. Finally, we suggest you use 3-1/2” tubing if Qatar customer have to use with 2-7/8” or 3-1/2” tubing. We checked the specification carefully and found the ID of the 3-1/2” tubing is only 2.75" (70mm). For the pump connection, it will be available.
   We changed the pump model again, added the pipe head loss in the total head of the pump.In this situation, the flow rate won't decrease. We will provide you an adapter, one side connect with our pump. The other side connect with your tubing.
