The main feature of an axial flow submersible pump is that its impeller is designed like a propeller, and the liquid flows into and out of the pump body along the axial direction. This design makes axial flow pumps very suitable for high-flow, low-head applications, such as irrigation, flood control and drainage.
Mixed flow submersible pumps combine the advantages of centrifugal pumps and axial flow pumps, which can increase the head to a certain extent while maintaining a high flow rate. The impeller design of mixed flow pumps allows liquid to enter at a certain angle and be discharged at a greater pressure, so it is suitable for applications that require higher heads than pure axial flow pumps.
